Thomas Rees
AWARD WINNING AUTHOR
Hi, I’m Thomas Rees.
I’m the director of Jetoma Gallery & the Author of “Somewhere on the Daly”
I was born & raised in Darwin, Australia to Jeffrey & Angela Rees.
I love to write when I find the time & especially enjoyed writing my first children's book, Somewhere on the Daly - Jaz the barra goes on an adventure!
I have self-published a short story thriller, written & produced music, been a DJ, trained to be a barista, traveled continents & experienced many ways of living life.
I'm a qualified electrician & owner/operator of an electrical contracting business here in Darwin.
I trained under my father with my two brothers Mark & Mickey.
My artistic side comes from my mother who loved scrap booking & would help us to gold stars in most school projects.
My greatest achievement in life is my beautiful family, wife Jessica and 3 kids Matilda, Edith and Angus.
I hope you enjoyed reading my work as much as I enjoy creating it.
THANK YOU!
Kit Turner
AWARD WINNING ILLUSTRATOR
Hiya, I’m Kit Turner.
I’m from Kent, England and have had a knack for drawing ever since I was little.
I have the biggest passion for animals and have been lucky enough to be surrounded by them for as long as I can remember. This led to my artistic side and my love of animals coming together.
I grew up watching a lot of “Crocodile Hunter” with my Dad and since then Australian animals have been my favourites to draw. Especially crocodiles!
I have loved working on “Somewhere on the Daly” with Tom and illustrating some of Australia’s crazy inhabitants.
It’s a big goal in my life to show people the amazing creatures we share the planet with. I especially love engaging children with my drawings and teaching them about some of the weirder animals!
I’m early in my career as an illustrator and graduated from university in 2021. Since then I have been trying to pick up as many jobs as possible where I get to illustrate animals. I’m very thankful that Tom chose me!
I hope you love the book!
